Brenda Gail Rose

Brenda Gail Rose, 71, passed away on October 10, 2023. She was born on January 13, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Virgil and Aurdery Rose.

Brenda went to McNeese State University and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Brenda was a RN and loved caring for elderly people.

She worked at several nursing home facilities before her battle with cancer eleven years ago that left her unable to work anymore. Brenda loved the mountains, reading, cross-stitching, and spending time with her little schnauzer, Oakley.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her daughter, Lori Moore (Bennie); her grandchild, Maegan Moore (Thomas Mead); great grandchild, Zoe Mead; sister, Karen Foster (Jim); nephews, Carl Granger (Ann) and Scot Granger (Karen); great nephew, Michael and great nieces, Emily, Katelynn, and Madelynn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Rose and Audrey Laughlin Smith.

Her memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel, located at 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home, beginning on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 4:00P.M. and continuing until the start of the service at 5:00P.M.

The family would like to express their thanks to all of the staff at St. Patrick Hospital, unit 51, The Guardian Skilled Nursing facility, and Harbor Hospice for being so kind and caring for Brenda during her illness and final days.
