Bryan James Babineaux

Bryan James Babineaux, 61, of Lake Charles passed away at 10:05 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in his residence surrounded by family.

Bryan was born on May 16, 1958 in Sulphur where he was a graduate of Sulphur High School. He attended McNeese State University and USL. In his younger years Bryan owned and operated Bab’s Shoes in Sulphur and Lake Charles. He began his career with Sasol as an Operator and later retired as a Laboratory Analyst. Bryan trained yearly at Texas A & M to be a part of the Emergency Response Team at the plant. He was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and led Bible Studies. Bryan was also devoted to his ACTS community and served at many retreats.

He was a loving husband and father and adored his grandchildren. Bryan cherished his time spent with his family on camping trips, going hiking, and water sports. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially to visit their children. Bryan took pleasure in playing the piano for his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 36 years, Nanette Mancuso Babineaux of Lake Charles; children, Bradley Babineaux (Amanda) of Santa Barbara, CA, Shane Babineaux (Karli) of Houston, and Emily Delaney (John) of Sulphur; brothers, Gary Babineaux (Pam) of Sulphur and Scot Babineaux (Ellie) of Nederland, TX; four grandchildren, Cooper Delaney, Beckett Delaney, Aubri Babineaux, and Lyla Delaney; mother-in-law, Regina Mancuso of Lake Charles; brothers-in-law, Sam Mancuso (Pam) and Tony Mancuso, Jr. (Mickey) all of Lake Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Ovey Babineaux and his father-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Mancuso, Sr.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Torres, Monsignor James Gaddy, and Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. A committal will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Scripture Service to be held at 6:00 PM by Deacon George Carr with an ACTS rosary to follow. Visitation will resume on Friday from 9:00 AM until leaving for the church at 10:30 AM. A private inurnment will be held at the cemetery on Saturday officiated by Deacon Harold Nixon.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of Bryan’s doctors, especially Dr. Carl Nabours, Dr. Michael Broussard, and Dr. Craig Broussard as well as the caring staff of Heart of Hospice.
