Desmond Wayne Lalonde

September 15, 1988 — September 29, 2013

Desmond Wayne LaLonde, 25, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013. Mr. LaLonde was born in Lafayette and lived most of his life in the Lake area. He was a graduate of Parkview Baptist. He worked primarily as an Auto Mechanic as his passion was working on most anything that had a motor and always welcoming a challenge. He especially loved old "classic" cars and trucks. During his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. Mr. LaLonde prided himself in being like "James Dean". He was a man on his Harley, living life to the fullest, with character, a kind, generous and loyal heart, afraid of nothing. Mr. LaLonde will be most remembered for his sense of humor. His greatest times were shared with his precious angels, his wife and daughters, dressing in pink and playing "tea party". He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Taylor LaLonde and their three daughters, Karissa Rose, Natalie Ann and Hailynn Marie LaLonde, all of Lake Charles; his father, Desmond Scott LaLonde and companion Cyndi Fawvor of Lake Charles; mother, Melissa Rogers and fiancé, Chris Lachney, Sr. of Marksville; one sister, Connie Theresa LaLonde and companion Shannon Myers of Sulphur; one nephew, Sabastian Ray Myers of Sulphur; uncle, Michael Fruge of Tucson, AZ; paternal grandmother, Florence A. LaLonde of Lake Charles; maternal grandparents, Allen and Shirley Rogers of Lake Charles; dear friend "brother", Donovan Williams of Lake Charles; brother-in-law "side kick", Stuart Taylor of Lake Charles; godparents, Chris LaLonde and Chrystal Katoch, both of Lake Charles and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John A. LaLonde and maternal grandmother, Theresa Garlain Perron. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 02, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Chris Fuselier will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
