Dorothy Louise Bordelon

Dorothy Louise Bordelon, 93, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:36 AM on Sunday, August 23, 2015 in a local care facility. Mrs. Bordelon was born on February 23, 1922 in Lake Charles where she was a lifelong resident. She was owner and operator of several restaurants including Woody's Drive In and Restaurant along with her husband of 55 years, Woodrow J. Bordelon, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Bordelon also spent time working at Cayton Interiors for her sister, Ruth Cayton, who also preceded her in death. Later in life she enjoyed volunteering her time with hospice. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where she was active in Junior Catholic Daughters. She will be remembered for her baking and seamstress skills and will be missed dearly. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Stan Bordelon (Julia) of Grand Lake and Gerald "Jerry" Bordelon (Alice) of Lake Charles; a daughter, Patricia "Pat" Bordelon (Kevin Leveque) of Lake Charles; a brother, Mack Pearce of Gueydan; four grandchildren, Dylan Tete, John Tete, Sam Bordelon, and Erin Schlingman; and five great grandchildren, Bruce, Gus, Deschen, Hoyt, and Evan. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Herschel Pearce; and five siblings, Mabel Clawson, Herschel "Sonny" Pearce, Georgie Burke, Joyce Dutton, and Lucille Juskie. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the rosary at 11:00 AM.
