Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith, 57, of Cameron, LA, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in his residence in Cameron, LA.

Kevin was born November 4, 1959 in Creole, LA. He was the 4th of 8 children born to the late Wilson Smith and Anna Belle Guidry Smith. He was a very hard worker and helped everyone he could. He was known for his delicious fried chicken and was always called upon to help bartend at weddings. He also enjoyed cooking for benefits and functions like the Fur Festival. Kevin was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Kevin is survived by his children, Christi Smith Nixon, Nicholas Smith, and Ruston Smith; siblings, Philip Smith, Mark Smith, Denise Smith Campbell, Patrick Smith, Gerard Smith, Lisa Smith Reed, and Jude Smith; grandchildren, Jace Nixon, Conner Nixon, and Braxton Hylton; and his best friends, Reggie Murphy and Monte Brady.

His funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
