Linda Rose Stokeld Christian

Linda Rose Stokeld Christian, 67, of Lake Charles, passed away Saturday, July 20,2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  A native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Linda was born on October 1, 1956, to Leroy “Sonny” Stokeld and Rosa Mae Pesson Stokeld.

Linda was a 1975 graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School.  She had worked at the Calcasieu Marine National Bank for over 13 years and most recently worked for 15 years as a 2-year-old preschool teacher at St. Lukes Simpson Pre-School. She was a founding member of Krewe du Lac, having served as secretary, treasurer and was Queen Katherine in 1998.  She also played in a Pokino group for over 20 years and was a faithful member of St. Martin De Pores Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Byron D. Christian, children; Chad Lee Christian of Houston, TX. and Amanda Rose Christian of Lake Charles, brother; David Warren Stokeld (Margaret) of Lake Charles, brothers-in-law; Wendell Paul Christian (Lydia Launey) of Carlyss and Eric Martin Christian (Wendy) of Plaqumine. She will also be missed by her loving animals, Tiny, Shiloh, Luna and Tank.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Wayne Daniel Stokeld.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605, from 11:00AM until 2:00PM with a Rosary to be recited at 1:00PM.  A Rite of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00PM also at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their love and gratitude to Heart of Hospice and their CNA, Tenecia Dartest, who went above and beyond to keep her comfortable.
