Mary Rose Dugas Dubois

Mary Rose Dugas Dubois, 93, of Lake Charles, died on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at her residence with her beloved family at her side.

Mary Rose was a native of St. Martinville and longtime resident of Lake Charles. She took great pride in raising her children and being with her grandchildren, and enjoyed, Bingo, listening and dancing to Cajun music. She was of the Catholic Faith and a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where she served with the Catholic Daughters.

Preceding Mary Rose in death are her parents, Felias and Valerie Lassaigne Dugas; brother, Felias Dugas, Jr.; sisters, Corrine Dugas David, Hazel Dugas Bonin, and Joyce Dugas Golden. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Lloyd Paul Dubois, Lake Charles; six children, Deborah Holmes, Sour Lake, TX, Lonnie Dubois (Amy), Katy, TX, Rebecca Lognion (David), Lake Charles, Tina Hebert (Mark), Lake Charles, Robert Dubois, Iowa, and Richard Dubois (Marla), Carlyss; sister-in-law, Lou Ann Dugas, New Iberia; eleven grandchildren, Shannon Holmes, Mark Holmes, Jennifer Dubois, Christopher Longnion, Jonathan Longnion, Nicholas Longnion, Chad Hagar, Brandon Dubois, Emily Meek, Evan Meek, Erin Meek; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will begin on Thursday October 18 at Johnson Funeral Home at 4:00 PM and continue until 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:15 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 1:30 PM on Friday at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with Monsignor Danny Torres serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Michael Seep and his staff and to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice for the compassionate and loving care shown not only to our beloved Mary Rose, but to the entire family during this difficult time.
