Petronilla "Petty" Mott

November 7, 1943 — July 15, 2016

Mrs. Petty Mott, 72, of Bell City passed away at 6:50 PM, Friday, July 15, 2016 in a Houston hospital.

 

Petty was a lifetime resident of Bell City and a graduate of Bell City High School. She retired from the U.S. Postal service after 30 years of service. Mrs. Mott was a very active member of St. John Vianney Catholic serving as the Director of the St. John Vianney Bazaar for many years and a member of the Amicus Club. Petty was very active in her children and grandchildren’s activities and loved to cook Sunday dinner in her home for her family. She had a love for her family, friends, and life that was truly genuine. Petty was always smiling, friendly, and great member of support for her community. She will be missed by many.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Kim Mott and wife Desiree; three daughters, Tina Drost and husband David, Tiffanie Reber and husband Vernon, and Tonya Mott and companion James Duddleston; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Verret and husband Millard. She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Mott and her parents, Leo and Lena Derouen Hardy.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 21, 2016, from St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City. Pastor Emanuel Tanu will officiate. Burial will be in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be, Wednesday, from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM, in the funeral home, and continue from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM Thursday.
