Robert Long

Robert Lynn Long, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Mr. Long was born on November 16, 1951 to Robert and Viola (Vige) Long in Lake Charles, LA. Robert worked a combined 40 years at Halliburton and Firestone before retiring in 2019.  

He loved working on and restoring Classic and Muscle cars and enjoyed attending car shows, especially Cruisin’ the Coast.  He was also an LSU, Saints and Astros Fan and loved spending time with his grandkids.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 41 years, Juanita Bolt Long; children, Jason Long (Pamela) and Jeffrey Long (Jennifer); grandchildren, Kylee, Olivia, Scarlett, Addison and Ashlee; siblings, Janice Long, Peggy Long and Joan Long; special uncle and aunt, WR and Arline Long; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Mary Nell Long, Jackie Benoit and Gayle Richard.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Burial will follow in New Ritchie Cemetery.  A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10:00 am on Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
