Roy Douglas Lee, Jr.

Roy Douglas Lee, Jr., 71 of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away suddenly at 2:16 AM CST on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at a hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

He was born on August 18, 1948 in Pewee Valley, Kentucky, the son of the late Dorothy Moore Lee and the late Roy Douglas Lee, Sr.  Roy graduated in 1966 from Eastern High School.  He received his Bachelor of Education from Eastern Kentucky University and his Masters at the University of Louisville.  He worked as a teacher and coach for Oldham County High School and then continued on in higher education for Georgia College, Tulane University, and Georgia State University. He finished his career as a grant writer for Georgia Soccer Association and a teacher and varsity soccer coach at Loganville High School.  Roy was a dedicated member of Shiloh Christian Church and a brother of the Masonic Lodge. Roy enjoyed his family, coaching his girl’s soccer teams, collecting memorabilia, and telling tall tales with other members of the "Old Men`s Club."

Roy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carmen Lee, two daughters and sons-in-law Amanda Tantanella (Nicholas Tantanella) and Meredith Hays (Calvin Hays); six grandchildren, Ashtyn Larrison, Tyler Larrison, Rocco Tantanella, Addalaide Hays, Sofia Tantanella, and Waylon Hays; two brothers and a sister, David Lee, Debbie Roberson, and Jeff Lee; nine nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date due to the current pandemic. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in his honor to PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) Foundation or any no kill animal shelter. 

His cremation was entrusted by Johnson Funeral Home.
