Tye Taylor, Jr.

May 19, 1993 — January 26, 2024

Tye “Deuce” Taylor passed away suddenly on Friday, January 26, 2024, after thirty joyful years of life.
Tye was born in Jasper, Texas and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He grew up participating in whatever sport he could but chose to focus on being a quarterback and wide receiver for the Barbe High School Buccaneers. In addition to being a gifted athlete, Tye excelled academically and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. He was also a part of the Calcasieu Parish School Board French Immersion program throughout the entirety of his schooling. Outside of school, his hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gaming. Without fail you could always Find Tye carrying the team on the field, on the water, or online.
Tye found his life’s work in law enforcement, joining the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2019. He completed the Southwest Louisiana Law Enforcement Training Academy for both the Corrections and the Uniform Patrol Divisions. He’s had several other jobs and always managed to make lifelong friends no matter where he was employed.
Tye was a well-loved member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church where he was happy to serve in children’s ministry with his wife of 10 adoring years. He also faithfully went to his parent’s house every Thursday for lunch. Tytianna, his first niece, is in middle school now but Marlii is still young enough to be at the front door waiting for him to arrive. Tye always made sure to be a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, and friend. He aspired to impact others the way his father and mother did for him throughout his life. He always chose to see the positive in every person he met and situation he encountered. He was a rock for everyone in his life, and provided support, love, and good energy to anyone who needed it. He will be well loved and well missed in so many lives.
