A. "Fritz" St. Pierre

Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Fritz St. Pierre, 87, of Sulphur, will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Henning Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Doug Cain will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery, Carlyss, under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will begin from 6-8 pm on Thursday, January 6, at Robison Funeral Home and resume on Friday, January 6th from10am " 12 noon, with services at 2pm in the church. Mr. St. Pierre passed away at home on Monday, January 03, 2011 in Sulphur surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth St. Pierre and brother, Carroll St. Pierre. Arthur Fritz St. Pierre was born in McCombe, Mississippi and was a longtime resident of Sulphur. Fritz served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII in the European Theater. He retired from Citgo after working many years as a chemical engineer. Mr. St. Pierre was a proud graduate of LSU where he majored in chemistry and zoology. Fritz was an accomplished golfer, winning several tournaments throughout his golfing career. He was active in the community helping to build Frasch Golf Course and worked with the Frasch Museum. Fritz was a member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church, The Agin Cajuns Choir and the Henning Memorial United Methodist Chancel Choir. The family would like to give a special thanks to Odyssey Hospice for their care and prayers during Fritzs illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Henning Memorial United Methodist Chancel Choir. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Mertie St. Pierre, of Sulphur; two daughters: Jeannine St. Pierre Hirtle and husband William W., of Kamuela, Hawaii; Denise St. Pierre, of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren: Jared Paul Hirtle, Tiffany Hirtle Lindsey, Jessica Ruth Houston, Erik John Finley, Kristen Elise Finley; nine great grandchildren; brother: Roy St. Pierre, of Edwardsville, Ill-- along with a host of other family and friends.
