Adam Joseph Kershaw, Sr.

Adam Joseph Kershaw, Sr. 84, of Sulphur passed away on January 12, 2012 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1 p.m. in Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alan Weishampel officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 2-9 p.m. and will resume on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Adam was a native of Hayes and a longtime Sulphur resident. He served his country in the U S Navy. After the military he worked as a crew boat captain for 35 years until retiring in September of 2000. Adam was a longtime member of East Ridge Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Adam is survived by his wife, Mildred Kershaw of Sulphur; two sons, Lawrence Kershaw and wife, Kathy of Crystal Beach, TX and Dwane Kershaw and wife, Trudy of Sulphur; four daughters, Goldie Vincent and husband Ramus of Sulphur, Sandra Ezell and husband Larry of Camden, AR, Jo Ann Picard of Sulphur, and Barbara Delgado of Moss Bluff; one step-son, Charles Hicks of Sulphur, one step-daughter, Bobbie Brewer of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers, William Kershaw and wife, Mary of TN, Murphy Kershaw and wife, Joan of Lake Charles, and Clifford Kershaw of Iowa, La; one step-brother, Irvin Trahan and wife, Katherine of Vinton, 28 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Kershaw Jr.; grandson, Bob OQuain; two step-sons, Tommy Hicks and Jackie Hicks; and one step-daughter, Debra Hicks.
