Aiden Christopher Shotwell

Aiden Christopher Shotwell, 14, passed away at 4:35 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in a local hospital.

Aiden was born August 6, 2008 in Lake Charles, LA.  He was raised in LeBleu Settlement and attended Iowa Middle School until moving to Westlake two years ago.  He was a freshman at Westlake High School.  Aiden had a love for life and lived every day to his fullest.  He enjoyed riding his skateboard, making videos and rapping. 

Aiden is survived by his father, Christopher Shotwell; little brother, Carter James Shotwell; grandparents, Jeanette Shotwell of Westlake, Eddie Shotwell (Cindy Cormier-Shotwell) of DeRidder, Papa Dwayne Franklin (Tammy Marcantel Franklin) of Iowa, LA and Barbara Franklin of Sunset, LA; great-grandfather, Gordan Franklin of Iowa, LA; aunts and uncles, Chad Romero (Keri), Dusty Shotwell (Jessica), Hannah Franklin (P.J.), Brittany Carter (Zane), Lassa Burleson, Stacey Knight, and Capt. Kenrick Cormier (Carly); his OG, Gavin; his #1G Dravn; cousins, Landon, Oliver, Silas, Phen, and C. J.; along with numerous other family members and friends that he loved dearly; and Amber.

He was preceded in death by his GG’s Betty Romero and Genevieve Franklin; and great-uncle, Edward Romero.

A private service for immediate family will be held at Johnson Funeral Home.  His cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.

A celebration of Aiden’s life will be at Ponderosa Park beginning around 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Our Lady of the Lake, Heart of Hospice and to the surgeons and staff at Christus St. Patrick Hospital for the excellent care given during this very difficult time.
