Aj Goodfriend

AJ Goodfriend, 86, of Sulphur passed away Monday, December12, 2022 following a lengthy illness.

AJ was born in Hackberry and was a member of the Sulphur High School Class of 1954. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. AJ was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and 4^th Degree Knight with Knight of Columbus Council 3015. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He worked as an Insulator for Local 112 for over 40 years, working in various local refineries. AJ loved traveling with his wife, deer hunting and fishing. He loved time with family; especially teaching his grandchildren how to hunt. AJ will be remembered as a strong-willed man and as a person with whom you always knew “where you stood”.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Pat Goodfriend; three children, Randall James Goodfriend of Arizona, Julie Ann Goodfriend Dallas of Lake Charles, and Jay Paul Nicholas Goodfriend of Damon, TX; five grandchildren, Brooks Dallas, Joshua Dallas, Rita Marie Dallas, Austin Goodfriend, and Rydge Goodfriend; brother, Joe Goodfriend of Choupique; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Valerie Ann Goodfriend; parents, Paul and Mary Goodfriend; sister, Mary Cline; and brother Paul Adam Goodfriend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Monday, December 19, 2022, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.  Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM, Sunday, December 18^th with a recitation of the Rosary at 6PM at Johnson & Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur.  Visitation will resume Monday 8AM – 9:30 AM.

Donations may be made in AJ's name to the St. Joseph Indian School in South Dakota.
