Aldon Young

Aldon Young, 56, of Lake Charles, died Thursday November 14, 2013 at a local hospital following an extended illness. He was a life-long resident of Lake Charles and a Master Carpenter. A very active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, he was a Forth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was a kind, loving and caring husband, father and friend that will be dearly missed by all. Aldon was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Young, Jr. and Eliza Higginbotham Young; brothers, Tony Young and Johnny Young and a sister, Mary David. Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Christine Manuel Young, Lake Charles; two daughters, Laura Young Hartman and husband Eric, Katy, Texas; Taylor Young and finance Michael Campbell, Lake Charles; brother, Phillip Young and wife Emma, Lake Charles and sister, Sue Meche, Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Gloria Helmstetter, Baton Rouge and mother-in-law, Wilma Manuel, Lake Charles as well as many extended family and friends. Visitation will be today, Friday November 15, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Cursillo Rosary taking place at 7:30 PM. A Knight of Columbus Honor Guard will begin at 6:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be observed on Saturday November 16, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Rojo Anthony Koonathan serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
