"The Lord is my shepherd: I Shall not want" Psalm 23 Sister Alean Vincent Jourdan slept peacefully into the arms of her loving savior on the early morning of June 13, 2015. She was born on June 22, 1929, in the Willow Springs Community to the union of the late Joseph Vincent and late Sophie Perkins Vincent. Alean met and married the love of her life, Austin Jourdan Sr. and to this union six children were born. Alean was a devoted and loving mother and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a member of Pasadena Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a deaconess. Alean Vincent Jourdan is preceded in death by her husband, Austin Jourdan Sr.; her daughter, Jean Evelyn Jourdan Smith; her father and mother, Joseph Vincent and Sophie Perkins Vincent; her brother, Anderson (P.V.) Vincent; two sisters, Elnora Smith and Viola Dixon; ten brothers-in-law: Chester Jourdan, Preston Jourdan, Milton Jourdan, Shelton Jourdan Sr., Henry Jourdan, Oscar Jourdan Jr., Curley Jourdan, Joseph Jourdan, Robert Smith, and LV Dixon Sr.; her sister-in-law, Marion Jourdan; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Pryor Jourdan; her son-in-law, Sidney Victorian; father-in-law and mothers-in-law, Oscar Jordan Sr., Eva White Jordan, and Nancy LeDoux Jordan, and a host of nieces and nephews. Alean leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy three sons: Leo Jourdan, Reverend Austin (Maranda) Jourdan Jr. and Reverend Joseph (Martha) Jourdan; two daughters; Mary Ann Jourdan-Victorian and Dena Kaye Jourdan; 12 grandchildren: Gary Paul (Robin) Jourdan, Angelina Maria Anderson; Sean Austin (Jene') Smith, Dr. Lakeisha Lachelle (Jonathan) Jourdan-Kearney, Marnique Denea Jourdan, Ashley Renee Jourdan, Justin D'Juan Smith, Kevin Charles Gasaway Jr., Sha'Neal DeShae Jourdan, Shaunice Jeanea' (Jarrod) Gasaway, Leylani Mariel Jourdan, and Amber Jourdan-Victorian; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Irene Prater; sisters-in-law, Neomia Jourdan and Dora Lee Jourdan; brother-in-law, Morris Prater; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alean Vincent Jourdan was a loving person who brought a special light to her surroundings. Her smile and laughter brought peace and comfort and her eyes overflowed with the love and joy that was in her heart. Alean enjoyed many hours of sharing precious time with her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Most importantly, Alean loved the Lord and will always be remembered by her reminders to keep God first. Her funeral will be at 11:00AM Friday, June 19, 2015 at Pasadena Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Joseph Jourdan will officiate with Rev. Austin Jourdan Jr. presiding. Burial will follow in Willow Springs church cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday June 19, 2015 from 8:00AM-11:00AM at the church.
