Aletta Faye Mcfatter

Aletta Faye Forter McFatter, 86, of Lake Charles died on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 surrounded by her family in her residence. All of Heaven is rejoicing as one more alto has been added to the Heavenly choir.


Mrs. McFatter was born on February 1, 1926 in Cushing, OK and lived in Lake Charles since 1943. She attended Vincent Business College. Mrs. McFatter was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Boulevard Baptist Church, and Twelfth Street Baptist Church. She was a current member of Sale Street Baptist Church. Mrs. McFatter was truly a woman of God who will be missed by all of her family and friends.


She was an avid bowler for many years, starting at the age of 7. She was a part of the first team to win state championship.


Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 65 years, Jimmie "Red" McFatter; two daughters, Jimetta McFatter and Cristine McFatter Hinton and husband Darrell all of Lake Charles; a son, Don McFatter of Lake Charles; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Etta and Adolph Forter; two brothers, J.C. and Don Forter; and two grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 17, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randy Edwards and Dr. Don Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the services.


The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Mrs. McFatter's friend and caregiver, Evelyn Lemoine, for her loving care.
