Alford Clooney Savoie, 81, of Sulphur died on Friday, December 9, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mr. Savoie was born on January 16, 1930. He was born and raised in Creole, LA and was a 1948 graduate of Creole High School. Mr. Savoie retired in 1988 from Chevron, formerly named Tennaco. Following his retirement, he enjoyed life as a rancher. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss as well as supported Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Una Mae Arabie Savoie; a son, Scott Trask and wife Kara of Sulphur; a sister, Marilyn Landry and husband Gilbert of Creole, LA. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Cornelia Savoie; a sister, Lovinia Kovach and husband Joe.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole. The Rev. Tim Goodly will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Creole under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday in the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday in the funeral home from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
