Alfred "Al" Joseph Landry, Jr.

Alfred Joseph “Al” Landry, Jr., 68, of Lake Charles, passed away on April 21, 2023 at a local hospital.  Al was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles having been born to Alfred, Sr. and Wilhena “Billie” Landry on October 7, 1954. 

Al just loved to be outdoors in general. He loved fishing and going to the movies with Jonathan, weekend day trips with the family and cooking. He was an amazing husband and father. He never missed a school function or field trip when Jonathan was growing up. He loved his granddaughters and was always available for impromptu tea parties with them. He was kind and giving and would help anyone. Even though he struggled with his health issues daily, he still always had an easy going, happy demeanor and positive outlook on things. His contagious laugh and smile and the genuine way he enjoyed everything about everyday life made him an absolute joy to be around.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Kay Landry of Lake Charles, his son, Jonathan Landry and wife Tiffany of Sulphur, granddaughters, Kinsley Gautreaux and Mila Landry, brothers, Tim Landry and wife Lauren and Mike Landry and wife Jamie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A time of gathering for family and friends will be Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA. 70605.  A Rosary will be recited at 12:00PM with Catholic funeral rites to follow at 12:30PM also at the funeral home.  Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home and will follow services.
