Paul Dugas, 68, of Moss Bluff died Thursday December 23, 2010 at his residence with his family at his side.


Paul was born January 26, 1942 in Donaldsonville, LA and has lived in the Moss Bluff area for many years. He was a retired operator in the chemical industry. He was an avid outdoorsman, having a great love for hunting and golf as well as gardening. Not only was Paul known for his green thumb, he was known to never meet a stranger. He enjoyed visiting and talking with others. A member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, Paul served as an usher for Saturday afternoon mass.


He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Joseph Dugas; brother, Phillip Dugas; and loving wife of 39 years, Grady Mae Duplechin Dugas. Those left to cherish and honor his memory are three sons, Anthony Eric Dugas and wife Kelly Jo of Orlando, Fl; Dewey Paul Dugas and wife Tammy of Moss Bluff, and Christopher Scott Dugas, of Moss Bluff; nine grandchildren, Eric, Joshua, Jennifer, Tareneh, Alexandria, Garrett, Chance, Kelan, and Kolby Dugas; 5 great grandchildren; mother, Arlie Dennison Dugas Haney, Iowa; brothers, George Dugas and wife, Penny, Moss Bluff; and R.J. Dugas, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday December 26 at Johnson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Scripture service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 27, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Theodore Catholic Church, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be at Ritchie Cemetery.
