Alice Anita Lewis Stephens, 80, of Sulphur passed away on October 4, 2018. She was known as “Granny” to all who knew her and welcomed everyone with open arms and unconditional LOVE. In her 80 years of life she never met anyone who didn’t fall in LOVE with her. Her favorite pastime and joy was putting on her apron and cooking for all even if you were a stranger.
“Granny” is survived by her son, Aaron Stephens, Jr. and wife Jackie of Sulphur; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Joe Lewis and wife Mary; 2 sisters, Linda Dillard and Melba Carlock; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Stephens, Sr.; parents, Erben and Teresa Lewis; daughter, Roxie Ann Stephens; son, Lewis R. Stephens and nephew, Scott Shelton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Gothrup officiating. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery in Simson, LA under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 5-9 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with visitation continuing on Monday, October 8, at 8 A.M. until time of the service.
