Alice Young

Alice Young peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Alice Young was born on February 21, 1926 in Washington, Louisiana to the late Jill Calligan and Cora Vorice.  Alice was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served as a member of the choir and the Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her only son, Ray Calligan and wife Felicia of Lake Charles; her five grandchildren, Lekiesha McZeal, Leonard Deville, Lakyn Boutte, Lauren Deville, and Treavon Calligan; six great grandchildren; her special nephew Randall Keys; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Young; her parents, Jill and Cora Calligan; six brothers; three sisters; one great grandson, Winston McZeal, Jr.; and two great granddaughters, Piper Breanae Boutte and Laicey Jade Deville.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral Home.
