Aline Honey Goudeau

Aline "Honey" Goudeau, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 23, 2012.

She was born on March 27, 1934 in Selma, AL and was one of 12 children. In her early adult life, she worked in her aunt's jewelry store. She met and married her one true love of 58 years, Clyde Ray.

She was totally devoted to her family and known affectionately by all as "Honey". Her favorite past times were flower gardening, holiday baking, and playing bingo. She was a devoted Catholic and was always known for saying Novenas and lighting her St. Jude candle for all kinds of requeststaking tests for school, surgeries, sick family and friends, and any other important life decisions and requests.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Clyde Goudeau of Lake Charles; son, Larry Goudeau; daughters, Theresa Ardoin and husband Frank and Jennifer Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Branden, Jillian, and Lindsey Ardoin, Kristen and Ryan Thibodeaux, Elizabeth Lyons and husband Scott; and extended family members, Michael Sowell, Tommy Thibodeaux, Marla Goudeau, and Mary Anne Bonner.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Scott DesOrmeaux will officiate. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. The gathering will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Mouton, Dr. Ben Thompson, Dr. Leroy Fredericks, and Dr. John Winterton along with their staff of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and Extended Care for their compassion and support during illness.
