Allan Russell Troutman, 79, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 in a local hospital. Mr. Troutman was born and raised in Louisville, KY and has lived the past forty years in Lake Charles. He served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. Mr. Troutman retired as a Production Supervisor following thirty-two years of service with Olin Chemical. During his younger years he enjoyed playing catcher for his high school baseball team then spent many years coaching Little League Baseball, taking great pride in coaching his boys. He was well known in his Kentucky community as he was the Campaign Manager for a Gubernatorial Candidate of Kentucky and was himself made a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Troutman also enjoyed woodworking, restoring antique furniture, extensive Genealogy research for his family and others and was a talented artist, painting countless family Coats of Arms and giving them, along with the story of the crest, to many friends and families. He will be most remembered as a kind man with great ethics. He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Janet Dooley Troutman of Lake Charles; two sons, Kevin Troutman and wife Debbie of Katy, TX and their sons, Jacob Troutman of Lake Charles and Dean Chauffe of New Orleans and Gary Troutman and wife Vanessa of Beaumont, TX and their children Clint Allan Troutman of Lake Charles and Megan Leigh Troutman of Beaumont; one brother, Victor Troutman of IN; two sisters, Ann Cox of IN, Mary Carman of KY and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mary Huffman Troutman and one brother, Ellis Troutman. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, October 21, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend David DeWitt will officiate. A gathering of friends and family Monday will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. Interment, with Military Honors, will be in Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg, KY at a later date.
