Allen A. Walker

November 15, 1920 — December 19, 2017

Allen Armand Walker, 97, of Lake Charles, passed away Tuesday December 19, 2017 in the comfort of his home with his loving family at his side.

 

Allen was born in Hayes and a long-time resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Bell City High School. Following graduation, he honorably and faithfully served our country in the United States Navy during World War II, part of the greatest generation. Allen retired from Olin Mathison after 35 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, Allen enjoyed being around others, dancing to big band music, and working on cars and small engines. Allen will especially be remembered for his sense of humor, Cajun jokes, and being one of the most avid duck hunters in the south!

 

Preceding Allen in death are his beloved wife of seventy years, Helen Natali Walker, his parents, Ralph Cecil and Ellen Hayes Walker; and a daughter, Jo Ann Krug. Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his son, Wayne Walker (Clairice Raichel); daughter, Patricia Perry (David); son-in-law, Scott Krug; brother, Ernest Walker; sisters, Florence Becker and Vivian McBride; grandchildren, Jessica Hebert (Ryan), Lauren Reichl (Chris), Ryan Krug (Nathalie) and Kayla Krug; six great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

 

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday December 26, 2017, at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue the following day from 9:00 AM unitl service time at 10:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Deacon Glenn Viau will officiate.   Burial, full military honors, will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
