Allen C. Sarge Shepherd

Allen C. (Sarge) Shepherd, 90, of Lake Charles died Tuesday May 7, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Shepherd faithfully served our country in the United States Air Force during World War II and retired in Lake Charles following his military career. He later worked, and retired, as a purchaser for the City of Lake Charles. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Thelma Gaspard Shepherd, Lake Charles; four children, Lorraine LeBleu and husband Ervin, Jr., Lake Charles; Thomas Allan Shepherd and wife Pam, Lake Charles; Nannette Ardoin and husband Rod, Oklahoma; and Blaine Shepherd and wife Chanda, Lake Charles; three sisters; seven grandchildren, Tonya Laughlin, Tommy Shepherd, Reanie Nunez, Cody LeBleu, Hannah Avery, Mary Ardoin, and Jacob Shepherd, and seven great grandchildren.Mr. Shepherd's final request was to be returned to his native town of Philadelphia, Mississippi for burial. Graveside services will be on Saturday May 11, 2013 at Linwood Cemetery under the McClain-Hays Funeral Home, 1002 E. Main St., Philadelphia, MS 39350.
