Allen G. Johnson, Jr.

Allen George Johnson, Jr., 65, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, April 2^nd, 2022 in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles.  He was a graduate of the A.M. Barbe High School class of 1975. Shortly thereafter, he began his career as a Pipe Fitter in Industrial Refinery and his membership with the Plumbers and  Pipefitters Local 198. Mr. Johnson was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing and for a brief while, commercial shrimping. He also enjoyed cooking. Amongst some of his most memorable times were gatherings of family for special occasions. He loved the traditional dishes and new recipes that were served and was always a gracious guest. Mr. Johnson will be most remembered for his gift of living life just as he wanted.  

He leaves to honor his memory, one brother, Charles Ray Johnson (Marianne) of Lake Charles; one nephew, Brandon Johnson (Candace) of Hemphill, TX; three nieces, Kimberly Ortego (David), Christina Johnson and Tanya Nunez (Jeremy), all of Lake Charles; four great nieces, Makayla Stout (Bransen), Katie Guidry (Gavin), Samantha Ortego and Bailee Covington and 3 great-great nieces and one great-great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen George Johnson and Francis Leona Prudhome; brother, James “Jimmy” Johnson and sister, Catherine Johnson.

In respect of Mr. Johnson’s wishes, his family will gather privately in honor and celebration of his memory.
