Allen Ray Courville

Allen Ray Courville, 74, was called to eternal life on March 23, 2023.  He was born on June 18, 1948 to Leslie Jean and Gussie Burleigh Courville in Ville Platte, Louisiana

Allen lived a life giving of himself whether to his family, his friends, or his clients.  He was a deeply religious individual.  His faith in God was the center of his life.  Prayer, meditation, and praising Jesus was the walk he chose.  He was one of the original members of the St. Margaret Charismatic Community.  His work with juveniles encompassed a guiding light to the clients he touched.  He leaves us saddened, but with his final words of, “Let your light shine.”

Those left to cherish his memory are, his brothers, Leslie Courville, Jr. (Joanna), Lloyd Courville (Susy), and Nolan Courville; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 29 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.  Rev. Paul Jussen will serve as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, and will begin on Tuesday, March 28 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM, and will continue on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until leaving in procession to the church.
