Allimay Corbello

Allimay Barnett Corbello, 104, of Kemah, TX, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 in a League City, TX care facility.

Mrs. Corbello was born October 7, 1917 in Lake Charles, LA.  She lived most of her life in the Lake Charles / Moss Bluff areas, until recently moving to Texas to be closer to family.  She was a past member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and the Optimist Club with her husband.  Mrs. Corbello enjoyed bowling and was a member of a bowling league for a number of years.  She also was an avid reader, enjoyed playing Bingo, and loved to garden and tend to her plants.  She was a big sports fan and loved the Houston Astro’s and New Orleans Saints.  She will not only be remembered for as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, but left a legacy with her six generations of family.

Mrs. Corbello is survived by her daughters, Norma Borel and husband “E.P.” of Lake Charles, LA, Rose Corbello of Mabank, TX, Carol “Tomi” Kendrick and husband Bill of Kemah, TX, and Dana Carry of Eustace, TX; sons-in-law, Robert Leger of Kaplan, LA and Paul Skidgell of Tennessee; brother, Danny Whatley of Topsy, LA; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Marvin A. Corbello; parents, Robert Barnett, Rose Hebert Kelly, and Jake Whatley; daughters, Linda “Suzie” Leger and Darla “Digger” Skidgell; brother, Eugene Whatley; and grandson, Curt Benoit.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  Father Aubrey Guillory will officiate.  Burial will follow in Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
