Allison Dawn Mills Gaudet, 52, of Westlake, LA passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 in a Lake Charles.
Allison was a native of Illinois and has lived most of her life in Sulphur, LA, residing the last ten years in Westlake. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School and Lamar University where she attained a bachelor’s degree in science of Nursing. Allison worked twenty-six years as a nurse at Christus St. Patrick hospital and passionate about her work, as well as, her work family. She worked the last five years as a case manager. She was a Mom first, dedicating her life and her love to her children. During their younger years, she went to great extremes to make “the magic of Christmas” special for them. “She was always there!” She was present for all of their school functions and events; was a dance mom & sports mom, present and in the wings of the studio and stage, on the sidelines and in the dugout for countless performances, practices, and games. She was a second mom to the friends of her children, opening her heart, her kitchen and her home so that her home was their favorite place to gather. She loved traveling as a family, cooking for family gatherings for TV night, cheering on her LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints and especially holidays. She enjoyed the beach, collecting seashells and collecting China. Allison was an admirable woman of faith; a member of First Baptist Church of Carlyss where she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and 3-year-old Mother’s Day out. Allison will be most remembered for her smile, laughter and beautiful blue eyes.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Kadra Dawn Gaudet of Sulphur; one son, Brandon Michael Gaudet of Sulphur; father, Arlie Brown and wife Alandra of Mississippi; two half-brothers, Bryan Brown and wife Krissie of Kentucky and Brent Mills of Dequincy; former husband and dear friend, Raymond A. Gaudet of Sulphur; fur grandbabies and many nieces, nephews and friends. She also leaves her extended family at Christus St. Patrick Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Graham Mills, stepfather, Edward Mills and half-brother, Shawn Brown.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, October 05, 2020 at Johnson & Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. Reverend Marcus Wade will officiate. Interment will follow in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation Sunday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
