Alodie "Toby" Carnahan, aka "the ice cream lady", 61, of Sulphur died at 3:05 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in her residence.
Mrs. Carnahan was born in Sulphur, LA on March 31, 1949 and lived there all of her life. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School. For the past nine years, she touched numerous lives as "the ice cream lady" throughout Calcasieu Parish.
She enjoyed many things in life including working in her yard and taking care of her plants, animals, and being outdoors.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Carnahan of Lake Charles; her mother, Alberta LeDoux of Sulphur; a brother and his wife, Tophile LeDoux and Jane of Carlyss; two granddaughters, Jade Carnahan of Lake Charles and Melodi Simon of Sulphur; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Carnahan; her father, Tophile Julius LeDoux; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Sidney Fontenot will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
