Alvin Breaux

Alvin Breaux, 65, of Hayes passed away at his residence with his family at his side, Thursday, January 3, 2013.


Alvin was born in Jennings to Ferman and Armine (Latiolas) Breaux on December 23, 1947. He was a lifelong resident of the Hayes area and graduated from Bell City High. He was a life member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Alvin was an avid sports fan and in his younger years an avid participant in all sports. One of his greatest loves was farming which he did for many years on the Illinois Plant. At the time of his death he was employed as a pipefitter for Westlake Polymers.


He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Charline Dubard Breaux; three daughters, Missy Breaux Mitchell and husband Doug, Michelle Breaux Merritt and husband Travis, and Melanie Breaux; grandchildren, Meagan, Tara, Bradley, Gracie, and Sophie Mitchell, Claudia, Emma, and Hunter Merritt, and Avery Gaston; one brother, Claude Breaux and wife Lana; three sisters, Margie Bellard, Ethel Broussard and husband Sidney, and Leora Boullion and husband Albert; two brothers-in-laws, Terry Dubard and wife Chris and Tony LeBato; his extended family who he thought of as his sons, Randy, David, and Kenny Bourque, and Jason Montgomery as well as several other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Doris Meche, father and mother-in-law, Charley and Rose Dubard and sister-in-law Gale LeBato.


His Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City. Reverend Emmanuel Tanu and Reverend Monsignor Joseph A. Bourque will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Vianney Catholic Cemetery in Hayes under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Sunday, with a Cursillo Rosary at 7:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life service and continue from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Monday in the funeral home.
