Alvin Ray Granger. 76, of Lake Charles died at 12:20 PM on April 5, 2013 in a Lake area hospital with his loving family at his side.
Mr. Granger was born in Mamou, Louisiana on December 30, 1936 to the parents of Lillian and Euge Granger. He has lived in Lake Charles for the past 58 years. Mr. Granger worked for George Theriot in Lake Charles as a Warehouse Foreman for over 57 years. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. In his spare time, he loved to work in his garden, fishing and was always working on his lawnmower.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 56 years Leola Granger of Lake Chares, LA, one daughter; Vanessa Lounsberry and husband Odis of New Iberia, one son; Jeff Granger and his wife Wanda (Sam) of Lake Charles, LA, two sisters; Shirley Fontenot and husband Will of lake Charles, LA, and Marella Kennedy of Ragley, LA, four grandchildren; Corey Duplechain, Logan Duplechain and his wife Veronica, Donna Granger, and Derek Granger, two great grandchildren; Aidan and Evan Duplechain.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday April 8, 2013 at 1:30 PM at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Bill Miller will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Sunday until 9:00 PM in the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday at 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
