Alyce Vere Guth

Alyce "Vere" Guth died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in a local care facility.

Vere Guth was born to Alice and Charles Germer on May 4, 1927 in Marion, Ohio. She was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She married the late Marvin J. Guth, Sr. on April 20, 1947 in Little Rock, Arkansas and moved to Lake Charles where she resided the remainder of her life.

Mrs. Guth enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Guth is survived by the families of her five children; Harold Guth and Grace, Dr. Marvin Guth and Joan, Alice Wyrick and Kenneth, Dr. Charles Guth and Claire; and son-in-law, George Murphy She had 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin J. Guth, Sr.; Daughter, Mary Jo Murphy and grandson, Dr. Walter Lee Guth.

Funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
