Amber Nicole Arnold Garcia

April 15, 1975 — August 13, 2016

 

Amber Nicole Arnold Garcia, 41, of Sulphur, LA passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 in a Houston hospital.

 

Mrs. Garcia was a native of Lake Charles, lived eight years in Austin, TX and the past fifteen years in Sulphur. She was a graduate of Pflugerville High School where she was named Who’s Who among American High School Students, McNeese State University, Summa Cum Laude, where she attained a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, and Louisiana College where she attained a Masters Degree in Education. She worked ten years in the Accounting Office and Service Department at Billy Navarre Chevrolet and for the past ten years, has been a Special Education teacher, specializing in Autism at Vinton Elementary. From a very early age, she thrived on education and knowledge. Mrs. Garcia was a strong woman of Faith. A member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, she took great pride in teaching 2nd grade CCD 1st Communion Class and different ages of Circle of Grace Class. She was also a member of ACTS and worked Mission retreats. She enjoyed listening to music, singing and dancing. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a great Mom, encouraging, following and supporting her children from gymnastic, dance, baseball, football, karate to “game night” board and card games. Mrs. Garcia will be most remembered for her strong-willed, kind, welcoming spirit.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Carlos Miguel Garcia of Sulphur; three children, Carleigh Kamryn Garcia, Greyson Silva Garcia and Jesse Miguel Garcia, of Sulphur; father, Randall Paul Arnold of Lake Charles; mother, Beverly Foster Malone and husband Lt. Col. Mark Malone of Senoia, GA; sister, Ret. Sgt. Amie Arnold Parker and husband Sgt. Vincent Parker of Tacoma, WA; Godchild, Vincent E Parker III of Tacoma, WA; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Jean Foster of Lake Charles; father and mother-in-law, Arturo Garcia and wife Sandi of Moss Bluff and Bonny Vincent of Porter, TX; two sisters-in-law, TaÑa Garcia of Lake Charles and Shonna May and husband Dale of Moss Bluff; two brothers-in-law, Keith Smith and wife Shana and Steven Smith and wife Misty of Moss Bluff and step-grandfather, Rev. Robert Malone of Centerville, IN. She also leaves her aunts, uncles and many cousins.

 

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jesse and Betty Ruth Arnold, maternal grandfather, J T Foster and step-grandmother, Margaret Malone.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:00PM Thursday, August 18, 2016 in St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Wednesday will be from 4:00PM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service and ACTS rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Thursday will be from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home.
