Amy Arsement Bellard

Amy Lucy Arsement Bellard, 76, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 6:25 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in a local care facility. Ms. Bellard was born August 25, 1938 in Abbeville, LA, was raised in Rayne, LA and lived in the Lake Charles area for the past fifty-six years. She worked for a number of years at Momma's Fried Chicken and was a faithful member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Ms. Bellard was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, the Mardi Gras Jester Group in Sulphur and participated in the Senior Olympics. She loved dancing and was a member of the Nifty-Fifties Line dance group. She also enjoyed playing Pokeno and enjoyed traveling. She loved her children and her family greatly and will be missed dearly. Ms. Bellard is survived by her children, Richard "Ricky" Bellard and wife Darlene of Haughton, LA, Tonette Lovett and husband Doc of Haughton, LA, Chester "Burt" Bellard and wife Tammy of Lake Charles, and Becky LaFleur and husband David of Big Lake; daughter-in-law, Beverly Bellard of Lake Charles; sisters, Alberta Roy, Delores Baker, and Lela Garner; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Chester Bellard; son, Anthony "Tony" Bellard; grandson, David Lovett; one brother; and one sister. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Jeff Starkovich will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
