Anda E. Matte Damiata

Anda E. Matte Damiata, 83, of Lake Charles, LA died on Sunday, January 1, 2012.

Mrs. Damiata was born March 9, 1928 in Church Point, LA, raised in the Sweetlake area, and lived in Lake Charles for over sixty years. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.

Mrs. Damiata is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Philip Damiata of Lake Charles; daughter, Lori Romero of Sulphur, LA; son, Brenon Philip Damiata of Lake Charles; sisters, Berna Boone of Sweetlake and UnaVan Zelfden of Plano, TX; brother, Hopson Matte of Lumberton, TX; and grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, and Lauren Damiata and Karli and Whitney Romero.

She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Peter Damiata; parents, Albert and Maria Matte; and sisters, Edith Richard, Leta Burnett, and Ada Gowin.

Her funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father John Huckaby will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 700 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
