Andrew “Andy” Ogea, 58, of Big Lake passed away May 23, 2017 in a care facility in Gueydan with his family at his side.
Andy was a native of Big Lake and a graduate of Grand Lake High School. He was a loving and kind man that loved to joke and kid around with people. Although he hadn’t in several years, he loved to alligator hunt. One thing he thoroughly enjoyed was working. He worked alongside his dad and brothers at Sweet Lake Land & Oil for many years then went on to truck driving. He was a cross country truck driver for the majority of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father Earl Ogea and grandson Xander Miller.
Andy leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory mother Gladys “Blue” Ogea; daughters, Candace Broussard (Joshua) of Gueydan and Miranda Miller (Terry) of Eunice; grandchildren Terri, Taylor, Gavin, Aiden, Daimine, and Kayden; brothers John Ogea (Debbie) of Sweet Lake and Greg Ogea (Melissa) of Big Lake and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday May 27, 2017, concluding with a Celebration of his life at 11:00 AM all at Jennings at Christian Family Fellowship Church of Christ. Pastor Paul Estes will officiate.
The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care and Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for exceptional care in his final days.
