Andrew "Drew" Johnson

Andrew “Drew” Johnson, 89, of Vinton, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, in a local hospice facility.

Drew was resident of Edgerly for over 74 years and was a member of Antioch Baptish Church. He owned and operated Andrew Johnson Logging for over 50 years. Drew proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a past member of the VFW and American Legion. He loved to tinker with lawn mowers and mowing grass. Drew was known for his great storytelling; a trait that his family and friends will greatly miss.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ricky Johnson and wife, Becky, of Vinton; grandson Chad Johnson and Carol; granddaughter, Ashley Laughlin and husband, JD; two great grandchildren, Elliott Gibson and Jaclyn Laughlin; brother, Grady Johnson; and sister, Katherine LaBorde. Uncle Drew will also be greatly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, childhood sweetheart, and wife of 66 years, Lou Ethel Johnson; great grandson, Christopher Johnson; two brothers; and four sisters.

A Memorial Service celebrating Drew’s life will be held at 11AM, Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Antioch Baptist Church in Edgerly. Visitation will be 9AM -11AM, Saturday at the church. He will be buried in Big Woods-Antioch Cemetery. Rev. Russell Beard will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur.
