Andrew James Mayer

Andrew James Mayer, 83, of Sulphur, LA died on January 31, 2024, in a local hospital.  Andrew was born on July 23, 1940, in Memphis, TN to Margaret and Herbert Mayer.

Andrew loved guns and shooting during his days off. He was a dispatcher at Iowa Police Department, policeman in Panama City, FL, and was a dispatcher at Global Industries for many years. Andrew loved watching tv and was a war history buff and had a very sharp mind.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 18 years, Sandra Arceneaux Mayer; 2 children, Andrew Mayer Jr. and wife Sheridan and Kimberly Mayer Hiller and husband Andrew; 3 stepchildren, Amanda Constance East, Amber Nicole East, and Kayla Sue East Canatalla; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Mayer.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
