Andrew John Betz

Andrew J. Betz passed away on April 6, 2016.

He came to Lake Charles from Chicago, Illinois, in 1973 and worked his way up to Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer of Lakeside National Bank where he spent 22 years.  After “retiring” he became a dealer/supervisor at Isle of Capri from 1995-1998 and was an IGT Jackpot Response Representative from 2003 to 2008. He shared his time, talents and treasures with the Diocese of Lake Charles, but especially with Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church and School and St. Louis Catholic High School serving on various school and finance boards.   Andy served the community as a member of the Lake Charles Rotary Club and as Treasurer for the building of the first Millennium Park.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beautiful family, his loving wife of 53 years, Ellen; son Michael of Lake Charles; son, Stephen and his fiance, Thereze Sichko of Orange, Texas; son Brian of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Theresa Bordelon and husband, Chris of Spring, Texas; and son, Scott and wife, Laurie of Lee's Summit, Missouri.  He was “Grandpappy” to six grandchildren, Paul Andrew Bordelon and Amy Marie Bordelon of Spring, Texas and Andrew Dennis Betz, Eliana Rae Betz, Aleisa Mae Betz and Isla Mae Betz of Lee's Summit, Missouri.  He also leaves his sister, Pauline Bentley and  husband Erv Goldberg of Evanston, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Paula Betz and grandsons, Edward Betz and Joseph Betz.

Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home Saturday April 9, 2016 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM followed by a Mass at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Our Lady Queen of Heaven School or St. Louis Catholic High School would be appreciated.
