Andrew James Woods

March 15, 1977 — February 11, 2025

Andrew “Dru” James Woods passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in a local hospital. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

If you really knew him, then you knew he was truly one of a kind and a force to be reckoned with. If he loved you, he loved you hard and loved you like no other. He made sure everyone knew “I’m not afraid to wear an orange jumpsuit behind you”. Whatever he was thinking, you knew it because he held no punches. He would just apologize later.

Dru was employed with Pro Paint in Sulphur for 13 years. During his time there, he found his true passion for cars, but what he cherished most was the family and friends he made while he was there. If you ever seen him, he was always representing Pro Paint with a hat or shirt.

Dru had many loves, but what he loved most was his wife Amy and his son Javonte. He always made sure everyone knew that they were his reason for living and that to him, they saved him. He was always supporting Amy in whatever “shenanigans” as he would say, she was up to. He was her biggest supporter and always made sure she knew how proud of her he was.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 17 years, Amy Coburn; his son Javonte White, his in-laws; Lonnie “Pop” McNeill and Tina “Ma Duke” McNeill, brother in laws; Jeremy Coburn, Corey (Nikki) Stetz, Andrew (Cameron) Stetz, Dillion (Macy) McNeill, Dannion McNeill and Michael McIntosh, sister in laws; Shayley (Brady) Kersey, Shauna Coburn, Yvette (Deonte) Peters and Stacy (T-Man) Hardy, his Godchild Emery Stetz and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, siblings; Andrea, Jocinthia and Jomika (Joe) Woods of Arizona, his adopted family; Tony (Pam) Thibodeaux, Anthony (Katie) Thibodeaux, Josh (Courtney) Thibodeaux, Jacie, Finley and Harvey Thibodeaux, Joshua Buxton, Aunt Laura Richards, Uncle Craig Thibodeaux and Uncle James Leger.

Dru is preceded in death by his mother, Salacina Eunice Woods; grandmother, Thelma Woods and his Godchild Ja’Koby Porter.
