Angela Sue Downs

Angela Sue Downs, 47, of Sulphur passed away on June 10, 2018 in her residence surrounded by her family after a three year battle of ALS. She was born in Lake Charles and lived most of her life in Sulphur. Angela was a graduate of Sulphur High School and a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Angela is survived by her loving  husband 23 years, William “Bill” Downs; son, Caleb Ryan Downs both of Sulphur; step-daughter, Lacie Jo Downs Langley and husband Ryan of St. Gabriel, LA; parents, Anthony and Sicily Patricia Starr of Sulphur;  her loving dog, Ginger; siblings, Kevin Wayne Starr and wife Missy, and Sherry Starr all of Sulphur; father and mother-in-law, Joe and JoAnn Downs; sister-in-law, Tina Chaisson and husband Danny; brother-in-law, Kevin Downs and wife Shelley; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews . She was preceded in death by her sister, Pam Starr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Luke Krzanowski, M.S. officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery North in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 4-9 P.M. with a rosary at 6 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 14, at 8 A.M. until time of leaving for the church service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter of ALS Association in the name of Angela Downs at alsalams.org .
