Anita "Lauren" Landry

Anita Lauren Landry, 63, of Ragley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Lauren was born in Lake Charles on April 24, 1961, to Frank and Geneva Jennings. She was a graduate of Barbe High School and a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana.

Lauren enjoyed spending her weekends camping and fishing at Toledo Bend, Sam Houston State Park, and Longville Lake. She enjoyed spending time with family cooking, eating, and celebrating joyful times. Her favorite past times were playing bingo, visiting the occasional garage sale, and working in her flea market. Lauren never met a stranger. She was a tough, but loving mother, a loyal wife, and proud grandmother to seven grandchildren. Her memory will live on through every person that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 23 years Timothy Lynn Landry, children; Angela Payne, Tina Vincent and husband Allen, Heidi Nugent, Cody Nugent, Brooke Nugent and boyfriend Devin Chapman, grandchildren; Eric Buchanan II, Kameron Payne, Abigail Vincent, McKinley Vincent, Amelia Chapman, Presley Chapman, Ryleigh Nugent, siblings; Rhonda Ford, Myra Arabie, Norman Jennings.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother; Bryan Jennings, sister; Karla Cheramie.

Visitation for Lauren’s friends and family will be Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, June 28, 2024, starting at 12:00PM and lasting until the service time at 2:00PM. Burial will take place at Consolata Cemetery.
