Ann Marie Christiansen LeBlanc, 83, of Lake Charles, LA, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, La. Ann was born in Manistee, Michigan on the 22nd of April, 1930. Ann will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She entered the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and became a Registered Nurse from Henry Ford Hospital. She went to Saginaw Veterans Hospital and Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan where she worked as an Industrial Nurse. She later worked at the V.A. Hospital in Santa Monica, California. She joined the Air Force and was stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. On return from overseas, she finished first in her class of Aviation Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base as a Flight Nurse. She was assigned to the First Fighter Wing at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mt. Clemons, Michigan. She met and married her present husband Len G. LeBlanc. They separated from the service after 7 years of military duty at the rank of Captain. She also worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Mt. Clemons as Charge Nurse. In Louisiana, she worked at Christus St. Patrick's Hospital and later an office nurse for Dr. Warren Raggio. She retired from Briscoe Substance Abuse Center with the State of Louisiana after 20 years and was Director of Nurses at that time. Ann was a very devoted wife and loving mother to her children and family; Janet Hollier and husband Jim of Shreveport, Jacques LeBlanc and wife Glenda of Houma, Patrick LeBlanc of Shreveport, and Maria Allen and husband Matt of Lafayette ; Nine grandchildren: Matthew and wife Lauren, Rachel and husband Erik, Daniel, Aaron, Jacques Jr., Adam, Christopher, John and David. Surviving is one sister, Janet Clerc, and one brother, Robert E. Christiansen of Midland, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Marie Christiansen of Manistee, Michigan, and one brother Thomas of Dallas. Monsignor Harry Grieg will officiate a 10:00 am mass on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, with a burial at Bertrand Cemetery in Hathaway, La. She is in the care of Johnson's Funeral Home in Lake Charles, La. Visitation will be at Johnson's Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2014 with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at the funeral home. Pall bearers will be grandsons, Matthew Hollier, Aaron Hollier, Jacques LeBlanc, Jr., Christopher LeBlanc, Adam LeBlanc, John Allen, David Allen, Erik Guillory. Honorary pall bears will be Daniel Hollier and Rachel Guillory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Training School in Alexandria, LA.
