Ann Martin Collins Marshall

Ann Martin Collins Marshall, 74, of Lake Charles passed away at 8:43 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in her residence.

Mrs. Marshall was born on July 18, 1948 in Lake Charles where she lived all of her life and was a graduate of St. Charles Academy.  Following graduation, she furthered her education at McNeese State University where she graduated with a teaching degree in 1969 and belonged to Chi Omega Sorority.  She continued her education to obtain a master’s degree in education from the University of New Orleans.  Mrs. Marshall taught in numerous schools in Calcasieu Parish but most of her career was spent teaching at J.I. Watson in Iowa.  She was a strong woman of faith and was an active member at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir and belonged to the ACTS group.

In her spare time, she took pleasure in reading, and she also enjoyed traveling.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 53 years, Gayle Marshall of Lake Charles; children, Michael Marshall (LeAnna) of Lake Charles and Megan Mariveles (Rei) of Spring, TX; her cousin and sister at heart, Kay Vaughan of Lake Charles; and her beloved grandchildren, Noah, Hayden, and Reese Harper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and James Madison “Matt” Collins.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Deacon Vic Bonnaffee will officiate.  Visitation will begin on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a scripture service to be held at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 AM until leaving for the cemetery.  A memorial mass will be held in her honor at a later date at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
