Ann Elisabeth Vogel Warshaw, 90, of Lake Charles died peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.
A native of New York City and a graduate of New York Medical College Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital from the Nursing Department, Ann married Dr. Lesley Martin Warshaw in 1945.
Ann served in the United States Civil Service Corp as a registered nurse for the attending Surgeons Office at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington and at St. Albans Naval Hospital in St. Albans, New York City. In 1952, she and her husband, Les, moved to Lake Charles, LA. She was a member of the Auxiliary to St. Patrick Hospital and served on its Board of Directors in several capacities, including Vice President and President. She was a member of the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Altar Society. She was a friend of the library and worked as a volunteer at the Calcasieu Parish Library Central Branch. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She was a member of the Lake Charles Country Club and served on the board of the Ladies Golf Association, formerly holding the offices of Vice President and President. She had a passion for golf and was Ladies Club Champion in 1982 and 1983. She and her husband traveled the world on many golfing holidays and wherever they traveled; their golf clubs went with them. She loved boating and fishing with her family. Some of her fondest memories were of the summers she and her family lived on their boat traveling to the Bahamas fishing and snorkeling. One trip Ann boated a 328 pound Blue Marlin a catch she was most proud of!
Her greatest joy was her children, her eight grandchildren and great-grandchild. She maintained a loving relationship with them and with her beloved niece, Kathi Barnett and Kathi's husband Paul.
