Anna Belle Doucet

May 9, 1935 — October 25, 2022

Anna Belle Doucet was born May 9, 1935 in Church Point, LA. She was one of six children born to Evie and Batile Carrier.

In 1955 she relocated to the Lake Charles area with her husband Milton, together they welcomed five children. She was devout in her Catholic faith and ensured her children were raised by the word of God. Within her church she served as a Eucharistic Minister, served the church during adoration hour, also dedicating time to the senior center in Westlake. She often enjoyed trips with fellow parishioners from the church, Nashville being her favorite place to have visited.

Second to her faith was family, nothing brought her more joy than sharing time with them whenever she could. She expressed her love through the service to her family and the delicious meals. Her rice dressing and seafood gumbo being the family favorites. She was employed as a salesclerk for various businesses around town, her most recent one being the VF Outlet in Iowa. When she was not dedicating time to the church, you could find her reading, watching her soaps, and enjoying her freshly mowed yard, a labor of love given by her children or spending hours on the phone talking to her sister, Ethel.

She was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 by her husband of thirty-four years, Milton Doucet; a granddaughter, April Doucet; parents, Evie and Batile Carrier; three brothers, Allen Carrier, Raymond Carrier, and Elton Carrier; and a sister, Tiny Duplechin.

Those left to cherish her memory, her children, Kelly (Cynthia) Doucet, Dale Doucet, Billy (Kellie) Doucet, Mona (Guy)Simmons, and Charlotte (Mitch) Granger; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Stanford and Nelma Cormier.

Family to welcome friends Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5:30 to 8:30pm with a Rosary to be prayed at 6pm. Visitation resumes Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 9:30 to 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, beginning 11am with burial to follow at Consolata Cemetery.
