Anna Ledoux Johnson

Anna LeDoux Johnson died peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee on October 9, 2011 at The HealthCare Center at West Meade Place.


Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Noah J. LeDoux and Alice Blanchard LeDoux, and by her husband, Milton Johnson.


She is survived by her son, Kirk "Jelly Roll" Johnson and her daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Freeman Johnson, of Nashville, Tennessee; her sisters, Gloria LeDoux and Lenora Chevalier, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and many loving nieces and nephews.


Anna was born on October 10, 1922 in Frey, Louisiana. Anna worked as a secretary for the Olin Corporation in Lake Charles for 25 years. It was in Lake Charles that Anna met Milton. They were married on June 18, 1949 and had a loving marriage until Milton's death in 1988.


Anna moved to Nashville from the New Orleans area in 2005 after surviving Hurricane Katrina.


Anna's family wishes to thank the entire staff of West Meade Place, Guardian Hospice, Dr. Richard Garman, all her many friends, and the volunteers from St. Henry Catholic Church.


Anna had a strong Catholic faith, an incredible loving spirit and an amazing will to live. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.


Visitation with the family will be at Johnson Funeral Home 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. A graveside service will be at Frey Cemetery in Frey, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Father Tran of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Road, Nashville, TN 37205.
